Yummy Conversation Hearts

My all time favorite candy is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and the Reese’s holiday shapes I love even more. I was determined to mimic the taste of Reese’s but add a Valentine’s twist to them. I think I achieved the Reese’s flavor which is DANGEROUS. Hopefully I don’t gain 100 pounds by the next time you see me. Read below to see how I made these Chocolate Peanut Butter Conversation Hearts!

Ingredients:
-1 cup peanut butter
-1/4 cup butter
-1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
-Colored melting chocolate (orange, red, pink, white, yellow, and purple)
-Small heart cookie cutter
-Skewers

Put the peanut butter and butter into microwave safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute or until melted. Add powdered sugar and mix until combined. Line a pan with parchment paper and pour in your peanut butter mixture. Smooth it out with a spatula until you have an even layer. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Take your mixture out of the fridge and cut out hearts with the cookie cutter.

Refrigerate the peanut butter hearts while you are getting the chocolate ready.

Put some colored chocolate and some white chocolate pieces (to make the color more pastel) in a microwave safe bowl and microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir the chocolate then microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted. Stick a skewer into a peanut butter heart. Eat the peanut butter heart…. just kidding but trust me you’ll want to, it’s so good!

Dip the heart into the melted chocolate.

Repeat this process with yellow, purple, white, and pink chocolate. Place dipped hearts on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for one hour. Here’s what they should look like!

Melt the red chocolate and put it on a Ziploc sandwich bag with one of the corners cut out making a small piping bag. Pipe on your conversation heart messages.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes. All done! These are so delicious and you can be as creative as you want with the sayings. Hope you are liking all the Valentine’s Day inspired posts!
