Make your own XOXO Pillow for Valentine's Day

Here’s another Valentine’s Day DIY for you. This XOXO pillow turned out super cute. There’s nothing better than pom pom and metallic foil lettering. I don’t think I need to remind you that metallics are so hot right now. When I found out a way to transfer metallics onto fabric I knew I had to do a project STAT.

Supplies:
-White cotton fabric
-Hot pink and light pink pom pom trim
-Iron on adhesive (I used DecoFoil)
-Heat reactive gold foiling
-Pillow form 12×16
-Scissors
-Sewing machine

First cut your white fabric, you will need two pieces 10×12 1/2 and one piece 12 1/2×16 1/2. Sew your two different trims together, making sure that they are offset so that the trim has a light pink-hot pink pattern.

Next sew the trim to the edge of the 12 1/2×16 1/2 piece of fabric. Make sure the pom pom trim is facing inward. Start 3-4 inches away from the corner of the fabric, sew as close to the top edge of the pom pom edge.

When you get to the corner, curve the trim making a round edge.

Keep sewing around the edges of the fabric you meet with the other end of the trim. Make sure to match it up with the pattern and cut off the excess.

Next take your smaller pieces of fabric (10×12 1/2) and sew a finished edge on the one of the longer sides of the fabric piece.

Pin the smaller pieces of fabric onto the larger piece with the trim. Put the side with the pom pom and the finished edge of the smaller piece facing together.

Pin both pieces all the way around the edge.

Sew around the edge that you pinned. Round the edges just like you did the trim.

Turn the pillow case right-side out and admire your work! The back should look something like this, a pocket fold.

Here’s the front!

Print out some XOXO stencils in your font of choice, then trace them onto the back of the iron on adhesive sheet.

Cut out the XOXO you have traced out of the iron on adhesive. Place the letters onto the pillow case (rough side down) where you want them to be, put a piece of parchment paper on top, then iron on the letters.

Peel of the paper backing and you will be left with just the adhesive. Put a piece of gold foil (shiny side facing up) covering the adhesive.

Put a piece of parchment paper over top and iron again.
